This is my very first plushie made with this pattern! He's an
original character of mine that was created for my portfolio
for art college. At my portfolio show, I wanted to have
something creative to show my work that wasn't just 2D
artwork, so I made this guy. My main inspiration for this
character was my teachers saying my work was "too Asian".
I'm half Asian so I was pretty offended, plus none of my
work was overtly overused Asian/anime icons. (I didn't have
any ninjas, cat girls, mecha, magic girls, etc.) So I looked to
other Asian countries for inspiration and used Shiva the
Destroyer. Didn't hear any teachers complain then, and I still
got to keep my Asian influenced characters in my portfolio.
